Mathew Knowles, the father of Beyonce and Solange Knowles, says he’s got breast cancer.

In an interview with “Good Morning America” that’s set to air on Wednesday, the 67-year-old sat down with Michael Strahan to discuss his diagnosis, his treatment and the implications for his family.

It’s unclear from the preview when Knowles first received his diagnosis.

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, breast cancer in men is rare. Only 1 in 1,000 men will ever be diagnosed and less than percent of all breast cancer cases develop in males though it is more common in older men.

The Duchess of Sussex has begun legal action against the Mail on Sunday over a claim that it unlawfully published one of her private letters.

In a statement, the Duke of Sussex said he and Meghan were forced to take action against “relentless propaganda”.

Prince Harry said: “I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”

    p066nxdf.jpg

A Mail on Sunday spokesman said the paper stood by the story it published and would defend the case “vigorously”.

Law firm Schillings, acting for the duchess, accused the paper of a campaign of false derogatory stories.

The firm has filed a High Court claim against the paper and its parent company over the alleged misuse of private information, infringement of copyright and breach of the Data Protection Act 2018.

The claim comes after the Mail on Sunday published a handwritten letter from Meghan to her father, Thomas Markle, sent shortly after she and Prince Harry got married in 2018.

In a lengthy personal statement on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s official website, Prince Harry said the “painful” impact of intrusive media coverage had driven the couple to take action.

Referring to his late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, the prince said his “deepest fear is history repeating itself”. “I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person,” he said.

BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell said the statement was “remarkably outspoken” and “nothing less than a stinging attack on the British tabloid media”.

    _108958025_bf5ef5af-716d-4e32-af2a-ea3cc287e47b

Former Daily Mirror editor and Guardian columnist Roy Greenslade said the duchess could win the legal action, but added Prince Harry had taken a risk by attacking the press for the actions of one newspaper.

“The press – particularly the tabloid press – is far less powerful now than it was during his mother’s era,” he told Radio 4’s Today programme. “Is he taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut here? I think he may well find that this is counter-productive.”

The language is clearly Harry’s: an unrestrained expression of anger and pain aimed at the British tabloid media.

Did any of his advisers urge restraint? We simply don’t know. Judging by the length and intensity of the statement, Harry would have been in no mood to listen to any such cautionary advice.

Is it fair to castigate the entire British tabloid media off the back of one dispute with one newspaper over one story, however painful? That is a matter of individual opinion and clearly Harry – supported one assumes by Meghan – believes that it is.

The timing certainly is curious. They are concluding a visit to Southern Africa which by wide consent (much of it expressed in the tabloid media) has been a considerable success. It has lifted their reputation after a series of mis-steps involving private jets and expensive property renovations.

    meghan-markle-grenfell-cookbook-1024x681.jpg

Now they have chosen to take one of the most powerful newspaper groups in Britain to court and launched this stinging assault on an entire section of the British media.

British tabloids are not afraid of a fight. They may well feel provoked by the language in this statement. Was it wise? We shall see.

The government has increased the price of cocoa from GHC7,600.00 to GHC8,240.00 a tonne and GHC475.00 to GHC515.00 a bag, Dr. Gyiele Nurah, a Minister of State at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) announced on Tuesday.

That implies 8.42 percentage increment, making it an upward review of GHC640.00 and GHC40.00 for a tonne and a bag respectively.

Dr. Gyiele announced this on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo, when he addressed a durbar organised by the Ghana Cocoa Board to mark the 14th National Cocoa Day Celebration at the Jubilee Park in Sunyani.

The programme, on the theme “Sustainable Cocoa Production for Wealth and Health” was attended by people from all walks of life, particularly cocoa farmers and other stakeholders in the cocoa industry to climax the 2019 annual cocoa week celebration under the auspices of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).

The day was instituted in 2005 by the then government under former President John Agyekum Kufuor to create awareness on numerous health benefits of cocoa consumption and to usher in a new cocoa season.

Dr. Gyiele announced that government would employ 1,343 agriculture extension agents (AEAs)to add to the existing number to provide extension and other support services for cocoa farmers to adopt best cocoa farming practices.

He therefore stressed the need for cocoa farmers to join forces in the form of cooperatives to enable them to enjoy numerous benefits that come with cooperative formation.

Dr Gyiele appealed to the youth to take advantage of the various government interventions to promote the cocoa industry to enter into cocoa farming to create wealth for themselves.

A number of the farmers interviewed by the Ghana News Agency commended government for the increment, despite the fallen price of the commodity at the world market.

A young cocoa farmer from Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of Bono Region who pleaded anonymity confessed that “the government has surprised us because we expected something in the region of GHC C500.00 per bag”.

Twelve ( 12 ) persons have been busted for allegedly involving in an international scam.

These twelve scammers caught at their operation point at Dunkunah in Accra are made up of different nationalities.

They were picked up by officers from the Defence and Intelligence Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces and officers from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) from their operational hideout.

The suspects, according to the security agencies, had succeeded in duping people of millions of dollars in a syndicated fraud.

The suspects, who are currently in the custody of the BNI as part of further investigations and prosecution, are Mohammed Sallam Mohammed, a Libyan, Hassam Mohammed a Chadian, Mariam Abdallah, a Malian, Mobasil Samfo, a Burkinabe as well as Derrick Salome, Alhaji Adams Jibrim, and Alhaji Yakubu both Ghanaians.

    Intelligence:

The Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Armed Forcest, Andy Any-Anyane, told Graphic Online that the security agents conducted the operation after gathering enough intelligence about the operations of the suspects.

The team mounted surveillance over the movement of the people for a while and when they were convinced that they were involved in illegal deals, they moved in to effect the arrest on Saturday, September 28, 2019.

    Modus Operandi:

Any-Anyane explained that the fraud syndicate’s method of operation was that they invited their victims, who were mostly foreigners, to inspect containers which were allegedly loaded with cash with the claim that it belonged to the late former Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi.

The containers, he said were kept at a warehouse which was in the house from where the suspects operated at Dunkunah.

He said bundles of dollars were seen in the containers on first sight, but beneath the surface was several bags of cement to deceive their victims.

He said the victims on seeing the containers and the supposed cash, were then baited to part with some initial deposits before the money in the containers could be transferred into their accounts.

The latest to have fallen victim to the syndicate said to have started in 2013 were a Belgian and a Brazilian who parted with sums of foreign currencies.

Details of the suspects’ banks accounts, the Deputy Director of the Public Affairs Unit of the GAF, said indicated that more than US$1.3 million had been deposited into the accounts between July and September, this year.
